From survey to completion –
our comprehensive six-stage process
For every property, we follow the same unique six-stage process. The restoration could not be more thorough. Quite literally, we replace every pipe, wire and switch. We restore the original plasterwork, stone, floors and woodwork wherever possible, and replace where it’s not.
Together with new building work and installing beautiful new hand-crafted kitchens and bathrooms, the process takes between five and six months. The property is then perfect and ready for the new buyer to move in.
Survey the property. Draw up to 1:50 detail.
Inspect for damp and woodworm – all external and internal fabric, such as roof joists,
woodwork, slate tiles, ridges and windows.…
Analyse the accommodation’s functional flow.
Devise architectural design to restore the building’s integrity while also reshaping for
contemporary living.
Design and material specification. For example: new Aga, timber flooring, bathrooms,
kitchen units, mosaics, marble, limestone, radiators, boiler, light fittings and switches.…
Detailed submission for planning and listed building consent and building warrant.
Strip out all existing bathrooms, kitchens, pipe work, electrical wires and circuits, and wallpaper.
Damp-proofing carried out.
Inspect all plasterwork for bossing and replace where necessary.
Check windows for fitting and rot. Replace where necessary. New ropes and mastic

First fix electrical: new wires fed behind walls, ceilings and floors.
First fix plumbing: new pipes run behind walls, ceilings and floors.
Install steel beams before partial or total wall removal top reshape the layout.
Add new partitions.
Lay new foundations for any extensions.
Re-roofing. Restore/replace plasterwork and stonework.…
Second fix electrical and plumbing: connect the new wiring and plumbing to new circuits,
light fittings, boilers and radiators.
Fill all water pipe work for a four-week test.
Complete and seal limestone, travertine and marble. Sand, repair and seal original timber floor.
Lay any new wooden flooring.…
Complete all floor finishes
Hand build and install kitchens.
Build conservatory/orangery.
Final electrical test for any shorts or leakage.
Finalise decoration.
