Katrina Tremmel

Director and company secretary of the business, Katrina has extensive project management and interior design experience, and her range of responsibilities include the buying and selling of properties, management and set-up of rented properties, and all interior design aspects and specification.

With Tremmel Properties being architect and interior design-led, this last role is particularly significant, and Katrina’s roles include: initial concept designs; planning of internal layouts; kitchen and bathroom design and specification; internal colour schemes; flooring, fires, fireplaces and stove specifications; show house schemes; and liaising with clients.

Prior to launching Tremmel Properties in 1997, Katrina was an active committee member of Fife Chamber of Commerce and was a partner in a successful Fife restaurant.

Ron Tremmel

A respected conservation architect with many years of experience in this highly specialised market, Ron has honed his skills to work with clients on a personal basis to provide an individually designed home for the owner.

A chartered architect with a postgraduate degree in building conservation, Ron worked with private architects (Hugh Martin & Partners, T Gray Associates) before moving into the local authority world. With Fife Council he was until July 1997 the director of property, responsible for 200 multidisciplinary staff and an annual capital budget of £21.0 million.

He has extensive project management experience in housing, schools and old folks homes, including projects at Ravenscraig Sports Centre, Kirkcaldy High School, Burntisland Leisure Centre, Fife Council HQ and Fife Police HQ.

Ron has been an external examiner for both Duncan of Jordanstone School of Architecture, Dundee, and the University of Edinburgh.

Andrew J McColl

Andrew is a chartered surveyor with 25 years’ experience and has known Ron and Katrina Tremmel since before Tremmel Properties was formed. Andrew first worked together with Ron on a particularly challenging project in Edinburgh’s Old Town. A professional and personal friendship was forged, with Andrew becoming a stalwart of the Tremmel Properties’ open-house viewings.

For a five-year period, Andrew’s career took him away from refurbishment and restoration until a chance meeting led to the opportunity to join Tremmel Properties and follow his passion with a similarly minded team for the sympathetic restoration of Georgian and Victorian properties.

His role is to give clients “a safe pair of hands” for cost certainty, value and timely delivery.
He is also the construction phase link between the client and the tradesmen.
